Those of us looking for sun
holidays this summer, will be beginning to plan ahead, however, may be sick of going
to the same old places. That's why we've decided to give you a number of ideas to
go a little off the beaten track and perhaps go somewhere a little further than
sunny Spain. These destinations are often available on offer a day sites such as Wowcher.co.uk.
Tunisia
A little off the usual track
and not much farther than most European resorts by plane, Tunisia offer s a range
of great destinations and some great summer sun for you this summer. Of course,
it's not just as developed as Egypt, or most European resorts yet and so offers
a range of benefits.
The country is a movie lovers
haven also and Star Wars was filmed in its desert. It also sports beautiful architecture
and cities such as Tozeur offer something different from the usual. Nefta, set on
a 5000KM salt lake is where Luke Skywalker saw the famed two moons. The area of
Metlaoui is also spectacular and from here you can travel through the Seldja Gorrge
with its pink mountains and grand canyon's. After all of this, why not go dune buggy
riding, hot air balloon tips, or to see a Bedouin encampment. Look at sites such
as Wowcher or savings of up to 70 per
cent on your dream holiday.
Columbia
Yes Columbia, Tayoronia National
Park in particular offers a great opportunity to catch some sun, while also experience
something quite different. Hike through the forest and await a different experience,
not white beaches but beautiful crashing waves in untamed land. It's all part of
a healthier tourist industry and for many one that we can see people loving. From
the mountainside, down to the sand, the is currently an untamed area that backpackers
will love, while also is a great place to just sit and chill. It's remote, it has
national park status and it's a sustainable sun holiday, with a sustainable price
from wowcher.co.uk.
Palawan,
Philippines
This Philippine Island is where
much of the inspiration for Alex Garland's The Beach actually came from and you'll
have to believe it to see it. If you're still looking for a deserted hideaway, then
this is pretty much it. Unlike commercialised Thailand, it's easy to find a long
strand of beach here with no one on it. There are over 7,000 islands in the Philippines
- which may increase your chances. So, get a fishing boat and some rods as it's
the last frontier for exotic islands, with no one on them. Enjoy the rainforest,
rocky coves and white beaches and find yourself alone in deserted heaven.
Tanzania
This area beside southern Kenya
is one of the most beautiful on the planet, with its powder white sand beaches.
Zanzibar is one of the crown jewels in this area and offers over 30 beaches, each
one as amazing as the last. Nungwi, which is near the north of the island is astounding
and stretches for miles and has a spectacular coral build up and ecosystem. The
sapphire water and beautiful coastline make for one very beautiful area , covered
in fishing villages - many of which are barely touched by industry. Zanzibar is
a timeless area, with an element of dreaminess for those of that persuasion - an
which one of us isn't.
Goa,
India
Once the preserve of old hippies,
who moved to this Indian paradise in the 60s, Goa is a little less out of the way
nowadays thanks to the powers of cheap travel. Though, it still has the hippy element
looking for conscious expansion and without the knowledge of how to work a shower,
it is still beautiful. Arambol which is the northernmost beach of the area is probably
the most untouched of all the beaches in the area. No matter how you feel about
global tourism, this beach will win you over - in spite of how hardened you are.
It's vast and easy to find your own area of quiet and is beside a small jungle and
fresh water lake if you fancy. Do be aware of the tigers however.
