One of the biggest benefits
of the sun and the warm heady days is the alfresco eating that comes with it.
Barbequing as the phenomenon is known is one of the most enjoyable manners in
which to enjoy the summer.
What better mixture could
there be than sunshine, food, friends and beer in an outdoor environment -
frankly, we can't think of one. So, what are must have implements to ensure
your garden or patio equates to that of a Michelin Star (well nearly) eatery
for the summer months?
Barbeque
Of course, the cooking
implement itself is probably the most important part of the whole set up. There
are any numbers of barbeques out there and as with your kitchen oven, it's all
down to you the sort you choose.
There are numerous high end
makes and models of barbeques, yet you'd still be amazed at the number of
people happy to use a disposable barbeque. However, if you have a little bit of
cash Weber make fantastic cooking devices that look and perform well and are
often available on daily deals sites at great rates.
We'd always say that
charcoal is the way to go with meat. Sure you can get a gas barbeque and it
certainly is cleaner and easier to use. However, it just doesn't offer the
flavour a proper charcoal grilling does.
Starter Chimney
Instead of using lighter
fluid and risking getting chemicals on your food, why not purchase a starter
chimney. These chimneys are fantastic for starting up the barbeque and you only
need the addition of some paper to do so.
The fire starter chimney is
low cost and also just as efficient as fluids. It also lasts forever and you
don't have to constantly replace and replenish stocks - it's just there for
every summer to come.
Furniture
Great barbeque furniture is
a must and city deals sites often have an array of chairs, tables,
rattan furniture and other places for you to sit in abundance during the
season. This means you get a stylish and functional piece of outdoor furniture
for a low cost.
Most of this furniture is
made from natural materials, is made to a high end standard and when it gets a
little closer to the darker end of the year, it still looks great in your
conservatory.
Look for wicker types of
furniture, though do remember if you're intending on eating a barbeque on it,
ensure it's a dark colour and preferably that the materials are washable.
Meat Thermometer
Never being one to put a
dampener on a flame; we still would like to preach that food safety is still a priority.
A meat thermometer can be a great way of ensuring your meat has hit a certain
temperature and that the bacteria inside are dead.
Meats such as chicken need
to reach a particular temperature or else you may provide both a succulent meal
and a sick stomach to your guests. Generally meat thermometers are inexpensive
and unless you're a real extraordinaire in the kitchen you won't need an
expensive one. However, they allow you to get the right temperature of meat and
balance the juicy and safe.
Rotisserie
If you're cooking a big
piece of meat then a rotisserie is a great addition and can really offer you
that even cook. Many of these come with pieces that allow them to simply and
easily attach to your barbeque and provide you with the delights of the great
hunk of meat of your choosing.
They do take a little bit
of time to cook with; however the meat is amazing as is the sense of
masculinity. There's probably little to parallel roasting meat over an open
fire in manliness terms.
Of course most of these
accessories and even the barbeque itself is often available on daily deals
sites such as Groupon.ie and others.
